Cambodia Vacations

A land of ancient temples and breathtaking landscapes.

Cambodia, nestled in the heart of Southeast Asia, is rich in history and offers globetrotters unforgettable experiences of ancient temples and wonders. Although Cambodia is known for its ancient wonders, it has breathtaking landscapes and pristine beaches.

Exploring ancient temples is an undeniable highlight of a Cambodia vacation. In fact, Cambodia has one of the most impressive ancient temples in the world: Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest religious monument in the world. The complex is an architectural masterpiece boasting intricate carvings, breathtaking designs, and towering spires. Explore it at sunrise for the best experience. The rays of the sun illuminate the stone structures, giving a stunning view of the entire complex.

Cambodia is not characterized only by ancient monuments. There is more to it. If you are looking to immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature or want to pump up your adrenaline with some adventure activities, Cambodia doesn't disappoint. The capital, Phnom Penh, is home to fascinating museums and palaces, as well as an emerging culinary scene that's the toast of the region. The country also boasts serene beaches like Koh Rong, Koh Rong Samloem, and particularly the area around Sihanhoukville, which offer relaxation, adventure sports, and many more. Get your sunscreen and a pair of towels when you plan for your next Cambodia trip. Apart from beaches, there are hidden gems in the countryside, like the Cardamom Mountains, offering travellers lush green rainforests, diverse wildlife, and ecotourism activities.

Cambodia is a melting pot of a variety of attractions, from historical places to pristine beaches — book a ticket and find out for yourself why this place is a must-visit.

The Culture

The culture of Cambodia is heavily influenced by the Khmer dynasty, and their imprints can be seen in ancient temples. Besides this, Hindu and Buddhist traditions have also shaped the Cambodian culture. Both have influenced art, architecture, and religious practices.

You'll hear a majority of Cambodians speaking Khmer, which is the official language of Cambodia. Other than this, there are a few minority languages like Vietnamese, Chinese, and Cham. French is another widely spoken foreign language, followed by English.

If you want to get into the hearts of locals, you need to learn the general etiquette of Cambodian culture. Cambodians traditionally greet each other with palms together. They lift their hands to the chest and bow down slightly. This greeting is called Som Pas. When you are at a local shop or meeting a local, greet them with Som Pas. A small greeting like this is worth it. They put a smile on people's faces.

Buddhism is the main religion in Cambodia, while Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity are minority religions. Hinduism was the preferred religion of the Khmer dynasty, and you can see the imprints of this religion in Angkor — the largest Hindu temple in the world.

Festivals are an inseparable part of any culture, and Cambodia has vibrant festivals and celebrations. The most prominent festival is the Khmer New Year, a multi-day festival involving various activities like water blessings, traditional games, and performances. If you plan to visit Cambodia in April, don't miss this extravagant celebration.
